What happens to the old IP if I get a new one?

by ShedBOy^ Question by Nick.391: What happens to the old IP if I get a new one? Can it be traced some how? Or is it just deleted completely? Is there a way I can look at the history of my IP usage, i.e. websites I’ve visited or are they usually deleted? IP’s can’t be used to a criminal’s advantage, can they?
